Review
Wonderful, fabulous, engaging, amazing, great, fun... there are no limits
to the praise I can give Ragtime. I went into the show with little to no
expectations, and came out almost in tears. The production is very moving;
the story unfolds with decent character development (although it would have
been a great 4 hour musical too), and beautiful songs. One piece, "Make Them
Hear You" is probably my very favorite song in the whole show. Brian Stokes
Mitchell (now in the Broadway production) is simply stunning- his voice is
full of emotion and strength, and he carries notes longer than I can imagine.
The rest of the cast was equally superb, strong performances all the way through.
The music, setwork, and storyline was all awesome. A worthy performance, and
my personal favorite for "Best Musical of the Year". Go see it.
